All learning takes place from a perspective or point of view. The point of view each of us has today developed when we were much younger. As babies we learned about who we are in our first learning relationship, namely, with our parents or cargegivers. Early in our development we noticed they were “there” and “we” or “I” was “here”. We learned by noticing and copying their words and actions. At that point the “me” perspective showed up and began to notice all kinds of relationships and that process continues throughout our lives. As social creatures we are wired for connection and strive to copy and model the behaviors of those we deem important in our lives.
We learn by noticing what is happening outside us (the world of the senses) and inside of us (the world of the mind) in whatever situation we find ourselves experiencing. We could be reading, talking, or eating while we are noticing what we are doing these behaviors for. They could be done for knowledge, friendship or health. We could also be doing these behaviors to move away from stuff we don’t want to have (doubt, confusion, etc.).
Using the Matrix we can use the perspective of “me” or “I” to notice and learn what is working and what isn’t working to get us where we want to go in terms of learning or influencing others to learn. We can also use it to come up with new behaviors.
